A 'Super' day was had by the children and families of the under 11's, 12's, 13's and 14's on Saturday 16th September when we had a 'London Irish' day out!

London Irish coaches provided the boys and girls with an hour and a half training session using the excellent facilities at the Reading Oratory School, with an emphasis on 'fun'.  Activities ranged from tackling, passing and general ball skills to sumo wrestling!  Parents were able to watch or partake in the tea and coffee on offer in the rugby clubhouse!

From there it was a quick change and off to the Madejski Stadium where there was just time for a quick burger and chips before the children were taken pitch side for a  'team' photo before forming the guard of honour for the teams emerging from the tunnel.  Flags were provided and the necessary flag waving skills imparted before it was lights, camera and action with the players running out and Sky TV watching!

Having returned to the stands to sit with parents and friends, it was down to the serious business of the match.  A great start by London Irish, but unfortunately it was not to be in the end, as the final score was London Irish  11  Bristol 23.

Thanks from all at Supermarine Rugby Club to the Reading Oratory School for the use of their facilities, and to London Irish for providing the coaching and giving us the honour of welcoming the players onto the pitch.  Here's to the next time!!!

Come on you Irish!!
